Theater Basel | LSD mein Sorgenkind (LSD my problem child)

The first performance of LSD mein Sorgenkind was this weekend at the Theater Basel.
The play is about the discovery of LSD through the swiss chemist Albert Hofmann.
It does not really tell the story but rather breaks it down into the individual components.
Some of the parts are then represented in a very detailed way.
The worlds first ever LSD trip is represented through pianos set up with colours like a typewriter, so every note played has her own colour and the whole melody creates a bizarre and still even pattern.
A traffic light that lights in time with the sounds and a cage with canary birds are just two more of the elements used to create an everyday but still exceptional atmosphere and we love how lights, colours and music are used to depict the state of euphoria.
