Art Unlimited 2015 | Pascale Marthine Tayou – Plastic Tree

The Plastic Tree (2014) by Pascale Marthine Tayou is another installation that we find very inspiring.
Attached to the wall are branches from a tree, and on each branch there are little plastic bags in different colours.
In 2010 Pascale Marthine Tayou presented a dry tree, standing in the middle of a room, with colored plastic bags hung on its branches.
In this years version of Plastic Tree there is no more tree, only branches, and it is a bigger installation.
With the soft colours of the plastic bags, the installation has a bizarre beauty, combining architecture, nature and artificial elements in one piece.
We still think the beauty of the plastic tree should not cover the problems behind it and that we should find a way in which human productions don't burden and harm nature.
